KRINSHELM

Nestled in the frozen embrace of the Valley of Kings in upper North East Aanveil, Krinshelm stands as a resilient beacon amid the icy expanse. Originally known as Kingshelm, the city was renamed to honor Krin, the last reigning monarch of the former Kingshelm. This name change pays homage to a valiant past while embracing a new chapter under its current governance.

With the fall of King Krin and the loss of the royal bloodline, Krinshelm transitioned to a unique form of rule. The city is now governed by a council of Durthii—seven revered Chiefs from the settlements —who collaboratively guide its destiny. The Great Hall, a majestic edifice at the valley’s heart, serves as the stage for their deliberations and decisions, embodying the spirit of unity and leadership. Accessible through only two critical sea trade routes—one along the treacherous west coast and the other from the icy passages of Anchorage to the east—Krinshelm thrives despite its isolation. These routes are lifelines for trade and survival, connecting the city to the broader world while preserving its enigmatic allure. The settlement's trading history and rugged climate have produced a diverse and resilient population. Krinshelm's rich and colorful history extends beyond its governance. Known for its role as a refuge, the city has long been a sanctuary for vagrants, outcasts, and those fleeing the shadowy clutches of Athelour and Hamm. Its remote location and formidable Icewall Barrens have made it an ideal haven for those seeking to disappear from the eyes of the law or escape troubled pasts.
